7th & 8th March 2020 – 35th Power of the Past (SA)

Held at Mount Barker Oval this years featured brands are: Allan Bros. Engines, Pontiac Cars, Ferguson Tractors, AJS Motorcycles, International Trucks.

7th to 9th March 2020 – Steamrail Open Day (Vic)

This event will have 10 steam locomotives on display, including A2 986, D3 639, K153, K190, R711, R761, Y112, Plus R707, K160 (from the VGR), J541 (Yarra Valley Railway) plus yet to be announced guest locomotives.

Plus Vintage Rolling stock display. Heritage diesel locomotives, railmotor 58RM, Tait electric train set, vintage machinery, models and other historic displays from Newport workshops 130 year railway and wartime history.

Entrance is located on Champion Road, North Williamstown (main gate at the water tower opposite cemetery).

15th March 2020 – 35th SARMA Toy & Model Swapmeet (SA)

Held at The Avenues College Gym, Corner Danby & McKay Avenues, Windsor Gardens. 10am – 1pm, admission $4 (supervised children under 12 free). Enquiries:

About the Event

Come along and join us for a day of Diesel, Dirt, Steam & Smoke at the Booleroo Steam and Traction Annual Rally on Sunday 29th of March 2020.

A great day out for the family or enthusiast, see our extensive working display of vintage and veteran tractors, trucks, steam engines & motor vehicles. The big shed market place also hosts stalls and exhibits that have something for everyone.

Gates open at 7 with food available all day.

Stall holders and exhibitors are welcome.

10th to 13th April 2020 – Morris Registers of Australia 22nd National Rally (SA)

The 22nd National Rally is to be held in Berri, South Australia.

18th & 19th April 2020 – Hunter Valley Steamfest (NSW)

This annual event has something for everyone from live music and gourmet food stalls in the Station Precinct, carnival rides, roving performance, market stalls in Church Street, a rally ground with specialty steam and food stalls, traction and portable engine displays, sheep shearing and blacksmithing demonstrations and Museum of Applied Science and Maitland Railway Museum displays.

Vintage steam locomotive hauled trains and diesel railcars provide rides to local destinations. One of the highlights of the weekend is the Great Train Race between a Tiger Moth and steam locomotives running on parallel tracks.

On Sunday Maitland Park hosts a display of over 400 cars for the annual Show ‘n’ Shine.

2nd & 3rd May 2020 – 115th Lake Goldsmith Rally (Vic)

The Lake Goldsmith Steam Preservation Association was established in the late 1950s, with a handful of remnant engines operating in a paddock nostalgically re-creating a bygone era. From that point, the movement has advanced to the position, where, not only is it acclaimed as “Australia’s premier steam rally”, but to that of international recognition.

The site includes:
• 65 Display Sheds
• Steam & Oil Engines
• Steam powered shovels & saw mill

Site opens at 10 am.

Brisbane Model Train Show 2020 will be held in the Exhibition Building at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

30th & 31st May, 1st June 2020 – Perth Model Railway Exhibition (WA)

Organised by AMRA WA the exhibits range from completed layouts from local clubs and model railway enthusiasts from all over the state, to layouts being built or almost completed. They have kindred societies also showing you what they do. They have a large LEGO® bricks setup so you can see what can be done with LEGO® bricks. As well as all these exhibits there are many traders, not just from Western Australia, they come from Victoria, South Australia and New Zealand.

Where: Claremont Showgrounds Exhibition Centre (Robinson Pavilion).

Opening Times: Saturday – 10.00am to 4pm, Sunday – 10.00am to 4pm, Monday – 10.00am to 4pm.

27th September 2020 – The Bay to Birdwood Run (SA)

The wait is over to enter one of the world’s great historic motoring events. You can now register your vehicle to be one of the 1750 participants in the 40th anniversary event on Sunday 27 September.

The Bay to Birdwood has moved with the times and only online entries will be accepted this year. Please ensure you are familiar with the event rules and regulations before you register. If you need assistance please call them on (08) 8568 4019.

14th & 15th November 2020 – Bendigo National Swapmeet (Vic)

This is one of Australia’s largest automotive swapmeets and has been held annually since 1975.  The swapmeet now has over 1,700 sites and attracts in excess of 15,000 people over the weekend.
